Visit Us

We welcome drop-in visitors Monday – Saturday year-round, Monday - Friday hours are 8 am - 4 pm and Saturdays 9 am - 5 pm; no admission fee.  Reserved programs will be offered year-round, please see “Calendar of Events & Activities” for upcoming programs.   We are currently unable to welcome visitors on Sundays.

Free Saturday Activities

9 am - Farm Chores at the Soddies - Bring the family and take a wagon ride to Wells Crossing, our replica 1887 sod village. Discover how pioneers survived on the prairie and help feed the farm animals.

9 am - 5 pm - The nature center is open with live animal displays and interactive exhibits. Visitors are also invited to explore the trails, visit the Cheyenne tipis or stroll through Wells Crossing.

Spring Babies - Chicks & Poults!
Barred rock chickens (have arrived) and Narragansett turkeys will be arriving in late March. Both are heritage breeds found on farms in the late 1800's. The chicks and turkey poults will be kept in the nature center until they are big enough to join the farm at Wells Crossing.

Pre-registration is required for all programs, unless otherwise indicated.

I-225 to Parker Road Exit (Hwy. 83)
SE on Parker Rd to East Hampden Ave. Exit
East on E. Hampden (continue past Tower Road approx. 2 miles to the PCC). Look for our gate on the north side of the road.

VIA E-470 (toll route)
From the NORTH
Take the Jewell Ave. exit
Go east to Gun Club Rd.
Turn south on Gun Club Rd.
to E. Hampden Ave.
Turn west on E. Hampden
Go 1 mile to our gate on the north side of the road.
